As a dedicated music educator and arranger, my mission is to bring out the very best in each ensemble I write for. I'm committed to achieving two key goals with every arrangement I craft:

  • Showcasing Ensemble Brilliance: My arrangements are tailor-made to highlight the unique strengths and talents of your ensemble. By carefully considering each musician's abilities, I aim to create captivating performances that resonate with the performers as well as the audience.

  • Empowering Pedagogy: Beyond entertaining, my arrangements are designed as valuable teaching and learning tools. I firmly believe in the power of music education, and my compositions integrate sound pedagogical concepts, enriching the musical journey for everyone involved.

With a blend of artistry and educational excellence, I strive to create arrangements that inspire, engage, and elevate each ensemble to new heights. Below, you will find some samples of the most recent work I’ve done. Everything on this page sticks quite close to the subject matter, as I’ve tried to make sure each arrangement is as instantaneously recognizable as possible. If you’re in need of an arranger, feel free to reach out via my “Contact” page!

NHL Stadium Series

I wrote two arrangements at the request of the NHL/ESPN media team for the 2023 NHL Stadium Series hockey match at NC State’s Carter-Finley Stadium. Below is my arrangement of Rock You like a Hurricane by The Scorpions - performed by the Power Sound of the South. I also wrote an arrangement of the NHL on ESPN theme, highlighted farther down!

Top gun

This is the first complete show that I arranged for the NC State Power Sound of the South (Fall 2022). It includes the Top Gun Anthem, a ballad medley of She’s Lost that Lovin’ Feeling and Take my Breath Away that also hints at the love theme from 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick, and closes with the hard-hitting Danger Zone.

Jimmy Buffett Tribute

Here are my arrangements of Jimmy Buffett’s Cheeseburger in Paradise, Fins, and Margaritaville. I wrote these shortly after Jimmy’s death in September of 2023. Having grown up in a Parrothead family, and having gone to nearly 30 JB shows myself, this one was a bit of a passion project for me, and I’m incredibly proud of how it turned out. You’ll also hear hints of Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On, He Went to Paris, Far Side of the World, Come Monday, and Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes.

Rocky

These are the first two pieces I arranged for the NC State Power Sound of the South’s Rocky show in the Fall of 2021 (my first season as assistant director). There is space in Gonna Fly Now for a trumpet soloist (or multiple soloists) to emulate the iconic solos originally recorded by Maynard Ferguson.

Super Mario

This is the Power Sound of the South’s Super Mario show, performed Fall of 2023. It includes music from every era of Mario:
Bob-Omb Battlefield - Super Mario 64
Jump Up, Superstar! - Super Mario Odyssey
Peaches - Super Mario Bros. Movie
MarioKart Stadium - MarioKart 8
Overworld Theme
- Super Mario Bros.
Listen closely, and you’ll also hear musical references to Super MarioKart, Super Mario RPG, Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Super Mario Galaxy.

James Bond

These are two arrangements I wrote for the NC State Power Sound of the South’s James Bond show in the fall of 2022. The opener includes themes from Skyfall, Goldeneye, Dr. No, and Goldfinger. The Latin tune Welcome to Cuba comes from Bond film Die Another Day.
