All-state instructional videos

Below you’ll find my latest instructional videos for the NCBA All-State Honor Band audition repertoire. Each video consists of a performance of the requisite solo, and then a quick list of practice recommendations for audition preparation. I’ll soon be posting updates for the 2023/24 school year soon!

It’s not much of a secret that I’m a bit of a Star Wars nerd… one of my hobbies over the past few years has been to write trombone choir arrangements of Star Wars music, and then to record, mix, and master them at the highest possible level. This hobby has worked wonders for my playing, and I’ve also learned a ton about audio and video post-production. I hope to one day rival Master Nova, but until then, May the Force be with you!

Christmas Music

I started my overdub journey with a Christmas quartet by arrangement by Robert Elkjer. After that, I wrote and recorded my own arrangement of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You,” which has performed reasonably well ever since! Every year I try to add at least one new Christmas arrangement to this list, so keep an eye on this playlist between Thanksgiving and Christmas…

Discography

I recorded on this album as a member of the Carolina Trombone Ensemble in Summer of 2022. We also performed the entire album at the 2022 International Trombone Festival in Conway, Arkansas.

I was a member of the orchestra (principal/lead trombone) on Southbound by Mac McAnally, released in 2017. Being a huge parrothead, this was an incredible opportunity to perform & record with one of my musical heroes.

The University of Southern Mississippi Wind Ensemble recorded this album while I was working on my DMA. I played bass trombone on the recording. Released in 2017.
